Job Description

Job DescriptionYour Responsibilities:

  • Technical leader for Active Chassis Diagnostics for all vehicle programs.
  • Lead Active Chassis Diagnostics calibration strategies and support associated algorithm development.
  • Develop common approaches and institutionalize them in Calibration Standard Work.
  • Improve the efficiency and quality of Calibration Standard Work by systematically driving present vehicle-based tasks into HIL and SIL environments.
  • Mentor Calibration Engineers, providing technical training and establish good communication and knowledge-sharing.
  • Support the resolution of Diagnostics development issues.
  • Serve as a technical leader in multiple forums.
  • Support all software change requests related to Active Chassis Diagnostics
  • Support Chief Engineer and Cross-Program Calibration Reviews.
  • Support Calibration Engineers to ensure high-quality, on-time deliveries and flawless launches.
  • Support resolution of vehicle, plant, service, and customer issues.
  • Ability to travel as needed. Travel locations in the US include Michigan, Colorado, California, Arizona. Travel locations within Canada include Markham (ON) as well as Kapuskasing (ON).
  • Provide input to Subsystem and Hardware Component Technical Specifications as applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations and GM-internal policies.
  • Document and integrate Lessons Learned from development and field issues into algorithm and Calibration Standard Work.
  • Actively participate in calibration activities for advanced programs.
  • Adhere to all safety precautions and requirements, treating safety as the top priority during all work activities.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering.
  • Calibration/controls experience in a complex technology area
  • 3 years of relevant job-related engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical direction to other engineers and engineering support personnel.
  • Very high level of analytical problem-solving skills where problems are unusual and difficult
  • Expertise with INCA/ETAS/CRETA/vCDM and other calibration tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • M.S. Degree in Engineering.
  • 5 years of relevant job-related engineering experience.
  • Experience working in multiple functional areas within Active Chassis controls.
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink programming languages
