The Opportunity:At WSP our GTA Buildings, Mechanical and Electrical Transportation Group team are providing Mechanical design and BIM 3D Modeling for Transportation Buildings projects for our clients to position WSP as a leader in the market. Were looking for an intermediate Mechanical BIM Modeler to join the team and to be located at our Toronto (Spadina) office. Reporting to the BIM Manager, you will oversee the adoption of 100% BIM modeling and extensive use of design automation for project delivery as part of a major corporate initiative.WSP is committed to becoming the leading M&E firm in Canada and globally around the use of production through technology / design automation and we are looking for an individual to support this short to medium-term plan.Why WSP

• Youll be performing 3D modeling of:
  • Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Systems
  • Plumbing including domestic water, Sanitary and Storm Systems;
  • Natural Gas piping for buildings and site services;
• You’ll be assisting designers with system design and modeling of duct work, hydronic heating and cooling piping;
• You’ll be preparing mechanical installation details and working on your own and within the team to develop the drawings for submission as well as helping to develop corporate BIM standards, policies and procedures;
• Working with the team, you’ll also assist with developing cutting edge tools to support BIM team in efficient workflows;
• As part of a global company, you’ll be expected to coordinate with WSP’s offshore design team while staying up-to date with the latest trends related to BIM and design automation;
• As part of our continued commitment to ongoing learning and development, you’ll attend Autodesk University, representing WSP and joining your global colleagues to share best practices.
• You will always ensure health and safety policies are followed at all sites and take WSPs Life Saving rules to heart;

Wed love to hear from you if you have...

• Superior knowledge of Revit, BIM360, AutoCAD and other BIM support tools;
• Previous experience with supporting National or Regional BIM standards;
• Previous experience with design automation and production through technology;
• Passion for BIM technologies with ability to promote these technologies and practices to increase user effectiveness;
• Knowledge of Duct Sizing (working with ductulator), and Pipe Sizing (SAN, STM, W, G) is considered an asset;
• MicroStation knowledge and familiarity with TTC Standards are considered an asset ;
• Ability to script in Dynamo/Python programming are desirable ;
• A collaborative mindset and a desire to work with a growing team delivering high quality work product to our clients.
