Job Description

Mandatory Skills: Retail Background, Oracle, T-SQL, MySQL, PowerBI, Tableau, Snowflake, leadership experience, development experience What is the roleA hands-on Manager, Business Intelligence who thrives in a dynamic work environment. This role involves working across the entire BI lifecycle, from source data analysis, Extract Transform Load (ETL) development, through to Analysis and Reporting implementation.This role is accountable for the build out of Data Lakes and the implementation of tools needed to enable data discovery, predictive analytics and other features. This role will design, develop, implement and support solutions that empowers the business with timely, actionable information. The BI Manager needs to be a self-starter, thorough in their work, and able to build a high competency team. Additionally, the BI Manager acts as mentor on best practices both for the development team and for the business in their acceptance of the new BI solution, helping them become more mature in terms of the understanding and correct utilization of their own data assets.What will you do· Provide Business Intelligence solutions including analytics, dashboards and reports to support PRB in making informed decisions that increase the bottom line through improved quality and services· Design, develop, deploy and tune deploy Tableau Extracts, Workbooks SQL Server, Oracle and Snowflake based ETL processes as required. Create appropriate processes and procedures to ensure proactive data quality monitoring· Perform system design and specification development, program logic and flow-charting, application security, testing and debugging with full awareness of cost/benefit, risk and performance.· Participates in client interactions, possibly with more senior team members, to develop BI solutions to business needs 24/7 Application support· Mentoring and pairing with other development team membersWhat will you need to succeedEducation and Experience· At least 10 years of professional software development experience· 6 years in team leading· Bachelors or masters in computer science or equivalent preferred· Ability to lead, direct and manage team members· Experience building and maintaining continuous delivery environments· Experience with Agile software development methodologies, source control, and automated testing and deployment· Experience deploying and managing in-house/cloud-hosted application services· Experience with large scale systems involving reporting, transactional systems and integration with other enterprise systems (i.e. Mainframe).· Experience with multiple Source/Version control systems and understanding of code merging concepts.· Have in-depth knowledge of management goals and visions and work in line with team members to achieve them· Working with high performing technology teams· Experience with retail point-of-sale applications is a plus· Collaborate with the Business Analysts in requirements gathering, prototyping and requirements validation. Able to solidly incorporate this information, along with project business objectives, into appropriate development strategies and plans.· Diagnostic Information Gathering – ability to seek information from a variety of sources and in a variety of ways, to clarify situations and to facilitate effective planning, decision making, and problem solving.· Writes code and unit tests, works on API specs, automation, and conducting code reviews and testing. Identifies exciting opportunities for adopting new security technologies to solve existing needs and future challenges.· Technical Acumen - strong understanding of software Java development concepts, procedures, and technologies utilizing Agile Scrum Methodology.· Collaborate with the Business Analysts in requirements gathering, prototyping and requirements validation.· Analyze and verify technical requirements for completeness, consistency, feasibility, and testability.· Resolving technical issues through debugging & investigation· Design and develop appropriate processes and procedures to ensure proactive data quality monitoring· Evangelize self-service Business Intelligence and help foster an environment of information-based decisions· Experience with Retail systems including point-of-sales, warehousing / distribution, and merchandising systemsJob Types: Full-time, PermanentAdditional pay:
