Job Description

Subsidiary: Miller Paving LimitedLocation: Markham, ONWhat Does a Central Buyer DoAs one of the nations leading vertically integrated building materials manufacturers and construction companies, we focus on the best for our customers, employees, supply chain and communities we work in. As a Parts Buyer, you will be responsible for the effective sourcing and procurement of parts, materials, goods, services, and finished products. The ideal candidate will be skilled at the requisition to payment process and highly motivated to create value by excelling in procurement.As a Central Buyer, You Will:

  • Purchase parts, materials, goods, services and finished products or business services based on the specifications and requirements of the organization
  • Assess the requirements of the organization and to develop specifications for the items or services required
  • Prepare requisitions and purchase orders to buy replenishment stock, equipment and/or services, and the arrangement of delivery
  • Direct runner for shipment and delivery of parts, materials, goods, services, and finished products
What Youll Bring:
  • Enrolment in Supply Chain training and construction equipment experience will be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of truck/heavy equipment parts and associated manuals is required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) is a must along with hands on experience in various computerized buying, planning, and/or inventory systems
  • 3 years’ practical experience in Purchasing or Inventory Control as a Buyer etc.
  • Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills, a good eye for details, and the confidence to deal with internal and external stakeholders at shop levels
  • Superb negotiation skills and the ability to be assertive
