The clerk/receptionist is a valuable member of the team and has a significant impact on the efficient and effective operation of this clinic. The successful candidate will be responsible for both clerical and receptionist duties.Responsibilities Include:

• Scheduling clinic appointments for initial consultation and follow-up visits including Diagnostic testing/surgical procedures that is required
• Greeting patients, answering and directing telephone calls to the appropriate personnel
• Follow-up of telephone reminder appointments to patients as required
• Ordering and maintaining office supplies
• Entering lab orders
• Photocopying, filing
• Compiling and/or photocopying reports to send to various outside agencies
• Using the Arthur Health software program to receive notifications of referrals
• Ensuring documentation is completed and upload into the Arthur Health
• Facilitating communication with WSIB and OWN network
• Troubleshooting and problem solving
• Ensuring timelines are met
• Performing special projects as assigned

What you bring to the role:

• Previous medical reception/clerical experience required, in a clinic/outpatient setting
• Knowledge of and/or completion of a medical terminology course
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft office tools, Meditech experience required
• Previous experience with patient scheduling systems is required
• Previous experience with Arthur Health documentation system preferred
• Experience with scheduling diagnostic testing and lab testing
• Excellent organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Excellent public relations and communication skills with a pleasant telephone manner
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of the team
• Evidence of good attention to detail
• Excellent organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team as well as independently
• Demonstrated good attendance and work performance record with the ability to maintain this same standard
• Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required

Work Schedule:The successful candidate will need to be available to work Monday to Friday, 3.75 and 7.5 hour shifts. Hours of work could be between 0800h - 1800h with potential shifts as follows: 0800h - 1600h, 0830h - 1630h, 0900h - 1700h, 0930h - 1730h, 1000h - 1800h.
