Are you ready to join usWhat we need:The Environmental Services Supervisor will utilize strong organizational, leadership and communication skills, technical knowledge of Housekeeping and the related services to oversee the Environmental Services Department and its daily operations. The successful candidate will also be required to oversee and assist Portering, Linen and Laundry and Materials Management as required.Work Schedule:The successful incumbent will be required to work rotating shifts Monday to Fridays. Shifts include 0700h-1500h, 0900h-1700h, 1200h- 2000h- including weekends and holidays as required, with availability of days for coverage as needed. Schedules may change based on departmental needs.Compensation:BAND N: $34.67 - $42.19 per hourWhat you bring to Oak Valley Health:Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity is preferredCompletion of the OHA Environmental Services Certificate is requiredExcellent knowledge of CSA and PIDAC standards as they relate to Environmental Services in HealthcareExcellent knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulationsExcellent knowledge of WHMIS and healthcare regulationsPrevious scheduling experience in a unionized environmentExcellent knowledge of Infection Control and related practices and proceduresKnowledge of Environmental Protection Act and associated regulationsBiohazardous and hazardous waste handlingKnowledge of the Employment Standards Act and associated regulationsExcellent Computer skillsMicrosoft programs and operating systemsKnowledge of Meditech is preferredFamiliarity with Collective AgreementsUnderstanding of and the ability to troubleshoot Housekeeping equipmnentExcellent oral and written communication skillsThe ability to problem solve and resolve conflictsThe ability to motivate staff, build and maintain effective teamsFamiliarity with contracts and procurement processesDemonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standardsDemonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with organization related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as requiredOak Valley Health takes pride in serving some of Canada’s most diverse communities.
