Job Description

Job DescriptionThe RoleAs part of the Vehicle Intelligence Platform Software Integration Team, the VIP Diagnostic Analyst is responsible for evaluating the implementation of diagnostics at the vehicle level. This position will involve in-depth review of CAN, Ethernet, and LIN logs to verify proper implementation of diagnostics across multiple ECUs, as lead investigation, root-cause, and documentation of any diagnostic implementation issues that are identified. In this role, you will work with ECU teams across the organization in order to support issue resolution and implementation of robust diagnostics. You will be working on high-profile programs using GMs VIP electrical architecture that include both EV and ICE vehicles.Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate diagnostic functionality at GVDP milestones
  • Ensure that infrastructure Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are setting properly for all ECUs
  • Analyze logs to troubleshoot diagnostic insufficiencies
  • Work with peers to reproduce scenarios in-vehicle or on a controls bench to evaluate SW fixes
  • Document diagnostic implementation problems in RTC and PRTS
  • Analyze fleet vehicle data to confirm DTC fixes and complete PRTS Feedback
  • Collaborate with validation, module teams, etc. to establish DTC implementation best practices and prevent repeat defects
Additional Job DescriptionPreferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 2+ years of automotive engineering experience
  • Experience with on-board vehicle diagnostics
  • Experience with controls/calibration
  • Experience working on problem solving through software application/tools development
  • Strong understanding of embedded software and controls
  • 2+ years of calibration experience in engine, transmission, or electrification(hybrid/EV)systems
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with automotive electrical interfaces such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet
  • Experience with software processes and change control
  • Experience working with CARB/EPA on OBD regulations
  • Experience with Over the Air re-flash feature
