Job Description

Job Summary:As the Family Support Worker for the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) you will work under the supervision of the Program Manager. As a Family Support Worker you will provide family centred services and case coordination to families within the Ontario Autism Program.This is a one year contract positionDuties & Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Primary point of contact for families accessing the OAP
  • Provide case coordination and service navigation to OAP families
  • Develop, update, and support the family in the implementation of their Family Service Plan
  • Arrange for a behavioural assessment when needed to initiate the creation of a behavioural service plan
  • Assist families with developing their Family Team
  • Support families to address any potential barriers to services
  • Coordinate support services and resources within and outside the OAP
  • Liaise with Clinical and Administrative teams to support families through all processes
  • Perform administrative tasks as required
Qualifications:
  • A University degree in a related field (e.g., psychology) or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder and Applied Behaviour Analysis
  • Knowledge of other community resources within York/Simcoe, Durham, and Four Counties Regions
  • Experience providing service coordination/navigation with families of children with special needs
  • Excellent communication, conflict management and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with Family centred planning is an asset
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office and other applications
  • Bilingual fluency will be considered an asset
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle to be able to work at various locations across the Central East Region of the province
Kinark Child and Family Services conditions of employment include but are not limited to successful Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening, completed Pre-Employment Medical certificate, and proof of full vaccination. Fully vaccinated is defined as having received all required doses of a World Health Organization Approved COVID-19 Vaccine and 14 days have passed since last dose.
