Job Description

Subsidiary: Miller Paving LimitedLocation: Markham, ONAs a Financial Analyst, You Will:

  • Analyze and conduct research in financial and expense performance
  • Assist in the preparation of forecasts and budget, analyze trends in sales, finance, general business conditions and other related areas
  • Prepare details of work plan and schedule, complete analysis and research, identify options, and prepare reports for management and recommendations for action or change
  • Conduct special financial and business-related studies as requested
  • Provide management with a clear understanding of the key drivers underlying prospective financial performance. Provide written explanatory interpretations for future courses of action
  • Consult with responsible personnel as necessary to determine causes of variances, recommend corrective action and prepare variance explanations for management
  • Troubleshoot and analyze complex financial issues and provide recommendations for policies, controls or action
  • Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required
  • Assist in month end closing and account reconciliation
  • Assist with internal and external audits as required
What Youll Bring:
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or business with 3+ years’ relevant experience
  • FP&A, creating and analyzing financial reports in a large organization would be seen as an asset
  • Experience working with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions in practical situations
  • Self-directed and highly motivated, with the decisiveness and flexibility necessary to operate successfully in a rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, along with presentation skills
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Access etc.
