Job Description

Subsidiary: Miller Paving LimitedMissionThe HR Coordinator (co-op/intern) will be responsible for the coordination of Human Resources activities related to employee record keeping in our HRIS and payroll systems, as well as employee SharePoint files. The successful candidate will work closely with operational HR representatives, payroll specialists and employees.Main Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Miller HR team and employees to ensure tasks on hand are completed efficiently, timely and accurately to meet HR and company goals and objectives
  • Serve as the first point of contact for HR related employee concerns with regards to payroll, vacation entitlement, data validation, etc.
  • Coordinate new hire and re-hire paperwork to ensure accuracy and timely submission to the HRIS and payroll systems
  • Assist with preparation of announcements, job postings etc.
  • Support recruitment activities such as screening resumes, arranging interviews, reference checking, etc.
  • Participate in HR projects
  • Other duties as required
Main Responsibilities
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university Human Resource Management Business Admin program, or equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of knowledge of HR practices and principles is required
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment (must be a team player)
  • Must be able to take initiative and be self-motivated
  • Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) are essential, experience with Share Point is an asset
  • High attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to maintain a professional attitude with a high regard for confidentiality
