Job Description

Videoconferencing systems, digital signage solutions, video walls, streaming, split-meeting room configurations are just a few of our services, which can be a little daunting for businesses to figure out what it is exactly they need and want. That is where Matrix comes in.Job Summary:We are looking for a Junior Installer to perform AV installation. Tasks include pulling cable, installing connectors, terminating cable ends, mounting speakers, projectors and screens.This is a Junior Installer position and will be based out of our Markham branch, applicants with all levels of experience may apply.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work under guidance from Senior and Lead technicians on AV projects
  • Perform cable pulls, solder, crimp and terminate audio, video and network cables
  • Hang monitors, projectors, mics, speakers on wall and ceiling using anchors, Unistrut and mounts (guidance/training provided)
  • Review Bill of Materials, Drawings, Project Scope and prepare for site activities
  • Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
  • Load and unload AV equipment at shop and worksite
  • Willing to work overtime as needed (time in lieu) to meet promises to clients
  • Willing to work out of town, overnight travel may be required from time to time
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
  • Must be organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to work and think independently to meet deadlines
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools (drill)
  • Knowledge of low voltage systems and signal flow for audio, video and control
  • Troubleshooting, quality checks, servicing abilities, problem solving abilities
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and work on ladders and lifts
Education and/or Experience:
  • Any education in Electronics or related field preferred
  • Any Networking/IT background preferred
Safety:
  • Bondable, clean driving record
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs and work on ladders and lifts
  • Any trade certifications are an asset: WHMIS, fall arrest, scissor lift and other safety Certifications
  • Matrix does not have a vaccine mandate but perform work for clients who do. This position will require candidates who can provide proof of vaccination
