Full-Time Live-In Building Superintendent – Retirement Residence (Markham)Company: Generations CleaningLocation: Markham, ONSalary: $37,000/year + Free Accommodations (one bedroom unit)Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | On-call availability required for after-hours emergenciesAbout Us:Generations Cleaning is a fast-growing company providing professional janitorial and maintenance services across a wide range of commercial sectors, including large retail stores, condominiums, co-ops, apartment buildings, offices, medical facilities, industrial, and manufacturing sites.We are currently seeking a Full-Time Live-In Superintendent to oversee day-to-day building operations at a retirement residence in Markham. This is a key position, requiring hands-on leadership, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will interact regularly with property managers, residents, contractors, cleaners, and other building personnel.Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Monitor and maintain HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and urgent maintenance issues.
• Be available 24/7 for emergency calls.
• Handle tenant inquiries and concerns in a professional manner.
• Assist with resident move-ins and move-outs.
• Ensure cleanliness and general upkeep of the building.
• Monitor security and safety systems.
• Maintain logs, inspection reports, and maintenance records.
• Support rent collection efforts when needed.
• Manage building inventory, tools, and supplies.
• Conduct regular property and equipment inspections.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety standards.
• Promote a positive and respectful living environment.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar superintendent or building maintenance role.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Sprinkler systems (wet and dry).
• Electrical boiler rooms.
• Plumbing.
• HVAC systems (Glycol and Chiller systems).
• Generator systems.
• Elevator operations.
• Fire panel and emergency systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Dependable, self-directed, and able to manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
