When in the candidate zone, you will be able to see your previous applications for both IBM and Kyndryl.For further information on privacy, please visit www.kyndryl.com/privacy.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesIntroductionThe Kyndryl Canada CTO Office is looking for a passionate mainframe professional to provide industry leading consulting and architecture in mainframe, mainframe modernization, and zCloud. The candidate will work with Clients as a trusted advisor to modernize their mainframe consumption model, as well as being a key stakeholder internally to shape our internal mainframe capabilities and commercial offerings to ensure they meet the requirements of the Canadian market.Your Roles and ResponsibilitiesAs the Mainframe CTO for Canada, you will be responsible for engaging with Clients to identify gaps and issues in their current cloud consumption model and propose enhancements to improve their adoption, migration, and transformation journey. In addition, you will work with the Kyndryl Mainframe Cloud Practice team and the Offerings team to ensure that solutions developed for internal IT or for commercial offerings can be applicable to the Canadian market.You will develop and present accurate and timely deliverables to customers outlining appropriate technical solutions, next steps, and accurate conclusions. Finally, you will possess a strong ability to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of existing offerings and platforms in use by Kyndryl itself.Detailed clarification of role :

  • The Mainframe Practice CTO is responsible for technical aspects of our Canadian Core Enterprise and zCloud business.
  • The Mainframe CTO works with the practice leader to set the technical strategy, make recommendations on the investment prioritization and works closely with various technical leaders including the Canadian CTO, Global Mainframe CTO, other practice CTOs, solution engineering team, and the Advisory & Implementation teams to ensure execution is aligned.
  • The Mainframe CTO will work closely with Canadian sector CTOs and account technical leaders to build strong and strategic relationships.
  • Additional responsibilities include vetting out capabilities from global practices and business partners, determining capability bundles in the context of solutions that address customer pain points, and driving innovation with our cloud business partners.
  • The practice leader will lead multiple technical teams of executives & non-executives.
  • Applicants will be required to travel to Client locations for workshops as required, up to 10% per month.
You will need the following skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and advise senior and executive level clients regarding strategic and tactical cloud technologies and strategies.
  • Strong ability to communicate to Clients of varying technical levels.
  • Ability to gain the trust of Clients to become a trusted advisor, to lead and shape Client expectations as well as influencing their strategy.
  • Ability to lead large groups and be a primarily facilitator to enable the development of cloud adoption and management solutions.
  • Ability to communicate technical findings & concepts to key stakeholders.
  • Proficient in writing cohesive reports for a technical and non-technical audience.
  • Ability to influence key internal stakeholders to ensure that the solutions for Internal IT and commercial offerings meet the business needs of Canadian clients.
  • Ability to work in a matrix management chain.
  • Recommend appropriate solutions to enhance the security posture of a Client’s IT environment
  • Bilingual (English & French) preferred
Required Technical and Professional ExpertiseRequired Technical and Professional ExpertiseYou must have the following:
  • 10+ years of experience working with large scale enterprise-wide system architecture, solution design, development and deployment principles and practices
  • 10+ years of experience in the computer industry with a broad knowledge of mainframe computing environments as well as storage systems for data storage, backup and restore and resiliency
  • Good understanding of mainframe system budgets and associated cost drivers (hardware, software, labour, network, data centre, etc.)
  • Experience supporting mainframe environments
  • Strong mainframe hardware (e.g., zSeries) and software (z/OS, Db2 for z/OS, Red Hat OpenShift and hybrid cloud platforms) with emphasis on providing recommendations for clients applying broad technical skills, industry knowledge and business acumen expertise for consulting engagements, project services and managed services
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to handle diverse situations, multiple initiatives, and rapidly changing priorities
  • Excellent customer relationship and customer presentation skills
  • Infrastructure and cloud pre-sales experience, skillset to establish trust with clients and ability to influence key decision makers in the sales cycle
  • Current or previous proven experience and hands-on as a successful business development leader
  • Demonstrated skills in leadership, communication, coaching, analysis, troubleshooting, and problem solving
  • Experienced, persuasive, and effective presenter, both written and verbal
