The company also produces flash memories, graphics processors, motherboard chip sets, and a variety of components used in consumer electronics goods.Position: Marketing Lab Technician (Technical Validationamp; Demo Support) Location: Markham, ON Duration: 4 Months Job Type: Temporary Assignment Work Type: Onsite THE ROLE:

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Lab Technician to join our dynamic Technical Marketing team.
  • This role is critical in supporting the launch and promotion of our computing products.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and maintaining test environments, executing technical validation tests on Windows-based PCs, validating customer use cases, creating clear and concise demo instructions, and providing general lab support to the marketing organization.
  • This position requires a blend of hands-on technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
Responsibilities: Technical Validationamp; Testing:
  • Configure and maintain Windows PCs (hardware and software) used for product demonstrations, evaluations, and internal testing. This includes installing operating systems, drivers, utilities, and application software.
  • Execute pre-defined technical validation test plans on Windows platforms to ensure product functionality and performance meet specifications. Document results accurately and thoroughly.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues encountered during testing and demonstrations.
  • Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on lab equipment (PCs, peripherals, etc.).
Use Case Validation:
  • Work closely with Product Marketing Engineers to understand customer use cases and application scenarios.
  • Set up and validate these use cases in a lab environment, ensuring proper functionality and demonstrating value proposition.
  • Document validation results and identify potential issues or areas for improvement.
Demo Supportamp; Documentation:
  • Develop clear, concise, and step-by-step instructions for product demonstrations targeted at various audiences (sales teams, customers, partners).
  • Create visual aids (screenshots, diagrams) to accompany demo instructions.
  • Maintain a library of demo scripts and supporting materials, ensuring they are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Assist in the preparation of marketing collateral, including technical presentations and white papers.
Qualifications: Education:
  • Associate #39;s degree or equivalent technical certification in Computer Science, Electronics Technology, or a related field *preferred*.
Experience:
  • Entry-Level (0-2 years): Basic understanding of computer hardware and software principles. Experience building/troubleshooting PCs is a plus.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues.
  • Experience with PC configuration, driver installation, and system updates.
  • Familiarity with common diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
Soft Skills:
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-solving aptitude.
Bonus Points (Nice to Have):
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
