Job Description :MEDICATION CARE PARTNERAmica UnionvilleFull TimeEducation:High School Diploma and completion of an accredited Personal Support Worker program that meets legislative standardsLicense/Designation:Medication Administration certificationFirst Aid and CPR certifiedExperience:Six hundred (600) hours of related experience, including both class time and practical experience, preferably with clinical experience in a geriatric settingKnowledge:Medication administration standardsResidents’ activities of daily living (ADL), such as hygiene, optimal functioning, well-being and feedingPersonal Support Worker routines and practicesInfection control guidelinesLifting, transferring and positioning techniquesRehabilitation and palliative approachesLegislative regulations and policies related to retirement careChanges in mobility of seniors and mechanical lifting devicesApplicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workersCompetencies, Skills & Abilities:Ability to contribute effectively as a team memberAbility to treat residents with dignity, respect and careStrong command of the English language both oral and writtenStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to develop rapport with residents and their familiesAbility to organize and prioritize workloadAbility to follow resident support plan and carry out activities as directedAbility to report resident needs through observation of their condition/behaviourAbility to follow safety procedures to maintain a safe and clean environmentAbility to apply lifting, transferring and positioning techniquesAbility to maintain confidentiality of resident informationAbility to work in a flexible environment to meet the needs of the residents, including weekend and holiday coverage, as requiredPersonal Suitability:Demonstrates a strong desire to serve and care for seniorsOpen, friendly and responsiveAble to apply tact, discretion and sound judgementTrustworthy, empathetic, reliable, punctual and adaptableMeets the physical demands of the jobShows initiative and commitment to excellenceResident service orientedAttend regularly scheduled shifts.Desirable Qualifications:Courses in gerontology, aging or dementia are an assetQuick Apply
