What we are looking for:The Physician Assistant will be a member of the GIM hospitalist team and provide direct medical care on mutually agreed guidelines under the direct supervision of a registered Physician/ Most Responsible Physician (MRP), and in accordance with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontarios policy on delegation.The PA will be expected to assist in the management of acute medical patients which may include, patient assessment, development and carrying out a treatment plan in cooperation with the managing physician, liaising with Nursing, Allied Health and other members of the patient care team, as well as communicating with consultant physicians. Maintaining good communication with the patient and family is a key role as well. Performance of minor procedures may also be within the scope of the PA’s skill set. Other specific duties will be assigned as the relationship evolves.Above average documentation and thoroughness is expected. Participation in teaching and educational rounds may be available.What you bring to the role:

• Graduate from a Physician Assistant Education Accredited (Canadian or U.S.) Program
• Certification of Physician Assistants (CCPA) preferred, NCCPA also accepted
• Flexible with superior organization skills and the ability to work efficiently to prioritize multiple, competing tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion, make decisions and take initiative while working with confidential patient information and responding to patient inquiries
• Superior work ethic, professionalism and reliability; demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding customer service
• Superior written/oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills; ability to effectively convey factual information and detailed explanations
• Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
• Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with organization related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
