Are you ready to join usWhat we need:The Transformation Project Management Office (PMO) assists in the development of the hospital’s strategy as well as its execution. We manage complex corporate-wide projects that support this strategy while also promoting project management and process improvement standards across the hospital. We are problem solvers committed to building a culture of innovation where good ideas are supported and scaled.Drawing on Lean, process improvement, project management, and change management expertise, the Project Manager within the Transformation PMO will provide leadership and direction in the development, execution and evaluation of a variety of organizational-wide improvement projects. In particular, this role will support the implementation of Lean/Process Improvement projects and standards, working with facilitators across the organization. This position will serve as a liaison between various hospital departments and the Transformation PMO.The successful candidate must have extensive experience in both Lean process improvement as well as project management and change management. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual with the ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment. The successful candidate will act as a mentor and coach to several Lean projects across the organization, will collect lessons learned and share success across departments, will refine Lean training and templates, and will lead some high priority corporate initiatives.Responsibilities include:Undertake activities related to problem statement development with front-line staff to identify opportunities for Lean projectsWork with project sponsors and process owners to complete project plans defining project scope, assumptions, risks, goals and deliverables, and financial resourcesEstablish the project teams and infrastructure to support project implementation and sustainabilityCommunicate with, and ensure active engagement of, project sponsors, process owners and team members throughout all project phasesEnsure that project outcomes align and move strategic goals and business goals towards targetsMeasure and report project progressIn collaboration with project sponsors and process owners, manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and develop contingency plansFacilitate or coach improvement events or co-design sessions when required for project objectivesEstablish and sustain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate and influence process improvement and project managementWork collaboratively to build Lean capacity across the organizationAssist in the incorporation of Lean philosophies into the MSH management system (ex: 5S, gemba, flow)Manage multiple projectsWrite proposals and business casesWork SchedulePrimarily days - Monday to Friday with flexibility to meet needs of the department. Schedules may change based on operational needs.Compensation:BAND G: $42.00 - $51.57 per hourWhat you bring to MSH:Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (Master’s degree preferred)Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent combination of training/experienceCertified Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred5-7 years’ experience in practical application of Lean process improvement as well as project management theory, including change management, resource planning and management, risk management, evaluation, etc.Strong working knowledge of relevant process improvement and project management toolsSignificant knowledge of hospital operations processes, health care service delivery models and emerging issues and prioritiesBusiness literacyEffective planning, organizing and evaluating skillsRelationship building skills and proven ability to manage projects involving stakeholders from diverse areas, levels and organizationsAdvanced negotiation and conflict resolution skills to ensure positive outcomes for quality patient care when dealing with internal hospital stakeholders and external partnersOrganizational agility and versatility to move comfortably across organizational levels, and influence leadersStrong facilitation skills and ability to manage group processExceptional ability to synthesize complex issues and communicate effectively, with clarity and impact, to various audiences across all organizational levels, utilizing a variety of mediaWell-developed presentation and writing skills and ability to use tact, diplomacy and persuasion to achieve business objectivesComputer literacy utilizing Microsoft Office software applications and proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, business intelligence tools, process mapping, and presentation softwareDemonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standardsDemonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as requiredMarkham Stouffville Hospital takes pride in serving some of Canada’s most diverse communities.
