Job DescriptionOur Botanical Boutique, neighbourhood Garden Centre and landscaping business is unique. Located on Main Street Markham, our botanical boutique and neighbourhood garden centre has a huge emphasis on flowers, plants, home & garden decor and gift-giving.We also have a workshop space to teach a variety of workshops, demos, events and seminars throughout the year. From a floristry perspective, we are a full-service florist but we do not do funerals and are not connected to any floral wire services. We also have a unique take on weddings through our DIY posse service. Our shop is interwoven with our landscaping business which focuses on garden design, installation and garden care as well as a known-for in Container Gardening. We have been voted the Best Flower Shop, Best Garden Centre and Best Gift Store in Markham consistently over the past five years.We are looking for an experienced retailer/florist. Floristry skills: processing, conditioning, flower arranging, maintaining equipment and coolers are essential.You must be customer-service oriented, self-sufficient, resilient to change and able to work in an environment without constant supervision. This requires multi-tasking in an often fast-paced environment. We are looking for a positive person with a great attitude and at least two years of experience in a retail, garden and floristry environment. We seek an experienced retailer/florist who understands customer service, store cleanliness, rigourous Covid precautions and protocols, great store presentation and organization, excellent inventory management, merchandising, inventory turns and customer retention.The hours for this position are Sunday from 11 to 5. Monday to Wednesday 9 to 5. Thursdays 12 to 9. it is a full-time position with a one-half hour paid lunch. Hours are reduced slightly for several weeks each January and February.
