In order to provide you with fair & equitable accommodation, you must submit supporting medical exemption documentation or an affidavit detailing why your religion prohibits you from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.Who you are:You encompass Oak Valley Health’s core values and live the words of Respect, Trust, Commitment, Compassion and CourageYou are a patient and/or client centered individual who performs at an exemplary standardYou are a team player with excellent communication, critical thinking and prioritization skillsWhat we are looking:Ensures a clean, safe and attractive environment for patients, visitors and staff by maintaining the clinical unit area according to PIDAC Standards for Environmental Cleaning within a Healthcare setting, following all department/hospital policies & procedures are being adhered to:Housekeeping duties related to all patient care areas, this includes cleaning up body fluids (urine, feces and blood)Cleaning and setting up patient rooms, washrooms, removing dirty bed linens, cleaning and remaking beds and supplying linens.Cleaning non patient care areasPerforms room transfer, discharges, terminal cleaning and floor and unit project cleaningSafely operates housekeeping chemicals and equipment (autoscrubbers, burnishers, vacuums and steamers)Assist with patient moves/ transfer within unit or adjacent unitAssist with equipment cleaning, transporting and storing. Report any concerns with equipment or that require repair to SupervisorPatient meal tray collection and water distributionResponds to Emergency codes as requiredWill be required to work in potentially infectious areasCollection and Handling of waste, linen, recycling, and bio hazardous waste, radioactive waste, pharmaceutical waste, and anatomical waste as required.Replacement of sharps container and wall mounted sanitizer as requiredInvolved in Quality Assurance programs and Audits – Patient Rounding, MyCTE, and other hospital initiativesRestocks PPE supplies into PPE wall bins, nurse medication carts and emergency bedside supplies and kitsDisposes Pulp products (such as single-use bedpans and urinals) and maceratable wipes into macerator and routine cleaning of maceratorResponding to call bells/patient needs within scope of SSA role such as: water, extra linen, routine/ad-hoc clean of patient room as requiredWhat you bring to the role:Grade 12 education or equivalent combination of education and experiencePrevious experience in environmental services and patient transport, preferably in a hospital setting considered an assetGood communication skills (reading, writing and verbal) as well as interpersonal, organizational and prioritizing skillsFamiliarity and comfort with technology systems (computers, smart phones)Evidence of ability to work well independently and as a member of the teamMust be able to meet the physical demands of the position (lifting up to 60 pounds)Well-developed customer service focus with the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within the teamKnowledge of the OHHA, WHMIS and other relevant legislationUnderstanding of infection control practicesDemonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standardsDemonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as requiredWork Schedule:The successful candidate must be flexible to cover any shift and assignment as required, including rotating weekends and statutory holidays.Shifts are currently as follows, Nights – 0000-0800hrs, Days – 0730-1530hrs, 0800-1600hrs, 0830-1630hrs, 0900-1700hrs, 0930-1730hrs, 1000-1800hrs, 1030-1830hrs, 1100-1900hrs, 1130-1930hrs, Evenings –1300-2100hrs, 1600-2400hrs.Please note that shifts are subject to change based on the operational needs of the department.Compensation:BAND CU01B $22.25-$24.38/hourWho we are:Oak Valley Health is one of Ontario’s leading community healthcare organizations.
