At Oak Valley Health, we are honoured to care.We are looking for enthusiastic and skilled Surgical Assistants to help us deliver world-class care beyond our walls.Working under the general direction of the Chiefs of the Departments of Family Medicine and Surgery, the Surgical Assistant provides assistance to surgeons and obstetricians during elective daytime and on-call/after-hours cases and aid in exposure, hemostasis, closure, and other intraoperative technical functions that help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient. In addition to intraoperative duties, the surgical assistant also performs preoperative and postoperative duties to better facilitate proper patient care within the perioperative and obstetrical areas of the hospital. These duties are performed under the direction and supervision of the operating surgeon and in accordance with hospital by-laws, policies and regulations.Qualifications/Experience:
