Are you ready to join usWhat we need:Working independently in our interdisciplinary setting, this position will be primarily working at our OPMH clinic within the hospital with some possibility of attending to the off site Wellness Clinic.Responsibilities will include:Reception duties and telephone communication, responding to voicemailsRegistering patients, booking follow up appointments and keeping schedules organized for in person, phone and virtual careProcessing referralsProcessing patient orders through computerManaging/sorting/sending faxes and materials for health recordsArranging meetings and appointmentsCalling extra staff for sick call replacementTyping/filing of patient reports, preparing letters for physicians when neededPrepping and processing patient charts and restocking (assembling) new charts and pulling and taking apart discharged chartsManaging creating new resources/appointment types, discharging accounts if requestedAssistance with payroll entryOrdering and monitoring inventory of suppliesWork Schedule:The successful candidate will work as needed M – F 8 hour day shifts (0730-1530, 0800-1600, 0830-1630, 0900-1700) as per the needs of the clinic. Schedules may change based on operational needs.Compensation:BAND CUP C03: $23.90 – 26.89 per hourWhat you bring to MSH:Recent Unit Secretary experience in a hospital outpatient clinic setting requiredRecent Unit Secretary Experience in a Mental Health setting requiredExcellent public relations, interpersonal, communication and organization skillsPrevious experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) with a minimum typing speed of 45 w.p.m.Previous experience using Meditech is an assetPrevious experience using Community Wide Scheduling is an assetKnowledge of and/or completion of a medical terminology courseAbility to work in a busy environment where patients are experiencing emotional and mental health difficultiesPrevious experience in mental health services requiredDemonstrated good attendance record with the ability to maintain this same standardDemonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with organization related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required.Oak Valley Health takes pride in serving some of Canada’s most diverse communities.
