The Unit Secretary is a valuable member of the team and has a significant impact on the efficient and effective operation of the clinics. The successful candidate will be responsible for both clerical and receptionist duties.Your duties will include:Scheduling clinic appointments for initial consultation and follow-up visitsRegistering patientsGreeting patients, answering and directing telephone calls to the appropriate personnelFollow-up of telephone reminder appointments to patients as requiredOrdering and maintaining office suppliesPhotocopying, filing compiling and/or photocopying reports to send to various outside agenciesPerforming special projects as assignedWhat you bring to MSH:Experience out patient scheduling and/or registration requiredRecent unit secretary experience; preferably in a clinic/outpatient environmentSound knowledge of medical terminologyWorking knowledge of computer technology with proficient typing skillsExperience with patient scheduling and registration modules is essential; experience with Meditech is preferredStrong customer service, interpersonal and written and verbal communication skillsAbility to prioritize and manage multiple demands in a fast pace environmentStrong critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills with a high attention to detailExcellent organizational skillsDemonstrated ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team as well as independentlyDemonstrated good attendance record with the ability to maintain this same standardDemonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as requiredCompensation:BAND CUP C03:$23.90 - $26.89 per hourWork Schedule:The successful candidate must be available Monday to Friday 0830-1630 and are subject to change based on operation needs and clinic volumes.Who we are:Oak Valley Health is one of Ontario’s leading community healthcare organizations.
