This position has accountability for the profit and loss of Aviva Canada’s Personal Insurance business with leadership responsibility of the Product Managers (“Segment Owners”) for each major region, channel and/or business worth $2.5B. The segments are divided by region/client as follows and are ranked below by revenue:OntarioWestAtlanticQuebecRBCThis role will also collaborate with the Direct and Speciality channel segment leaders in Aviva Canada to ensure the best results for both the customer and the organization.This segment team is responsible for profitability and growth of all personal insurance products with influence and collaboration on business strategies and tactics across all functional areas including: actuarial, pricing, underwriting, operations, sales/distribution, marketing, communications, claims, IT and finance.What You’ll Do:Provide the vision, strategies and execution leadership to drive profitable growth and competitivenessAct as a general manager or owner of the business to develop plans, objectives and strategies while influencing and driving all functional areas of the organization to achieve the optimal outcomes for the organization.Lead a team responsible for delivery of MI, developing a framework and strategy that will allow for efficient and effective production of MI in the long termDevelop and lead top talent, ensuring the team is focused on the underwriting performance of segmentConstantly evolve our MI to meet changing business needs, soliciting feedback and incorporating it for continual evolution and improvement.Build strong partnerships and direct involvement with senior leadership across the organization for defining and executing strategies to optimize performance, identifying growth opportunities, prioritizing work initiatives, and collaborating with key business partners to meet financial objectives.Craft go-to-market strategies and messaging with sales/distribution and marketing when changes in pricing/product are likely to affect brokers or customers.Collaborate with Broker Distribution for specific broker bids/dealsMonitor and evaluate the financial performance of the Personal Insurance business. Identify root cause of results and execute initiatives to drive positive performance in line with planned results.Monitor company, industry, economic and legislative developments and recommend changes in strategies or procedures as necessary.Take ownership for the development and implementation of the strategies needed to optimize premium, income and profitability for distribution channels.Ensure the highest level of customer and broker experience through a customer centric operation driving automation strategy and digital transformationSkills/KnowledgeAble to work across the lines of business at various levels to influence and effect change to achieve common goals.Demonstrated leadership; consistent track record of leading teams in delivering solutions.Ability to build partnerships, influence and collaborate across management, operating executives and the senior leadership team.Business acumen and a consistent record of developing efficient and effective processes in order to improve delivery and ensure that goals and targets are met on a consistent basis.What You’ll Bring:Excellent understanding of the personal insurance business and market, includingquantitative and critical thinking skillstechnical understanding of pricing, underwriting and actuarial techniquesStrong financial background and understanding of financial issues relatingAdditional Information:Aviva Canada is committed to providing accommodations for people with disabilities during all phases of the hiring process including the application process.
