Are you ready to join usWhat we need:The Wellness Consultant will be an integral member of our dynamic Occupational Health & Safety Department and will work closely with all departments at the hospital providing wellness expertise through consultation, program development, implementation and evaluation. You will be responsible for developing a healthy and vibrant workplace framework including an action plan to implement this framework; promoting wellness and health at the organizational, job and individual level; developing strategies on how to enhance the hospital’s healthy and vibrant workplace program; and assisting the department with the Health and Wellness Expo and other wellness initiatives.Responsibilities include:To provide wellness services for all staff and volunteers.The position exercises independence in providing exemplary customer service, administrative support/coordination, facilitation of wellness program to all MSH employees, professional staff.Provide support to staff through active listening with particular organizational/interpersonal challenges and situations.Creates a positive and innovative atmosphere that encourages employees to participate and embrace wellnessResponds to inquires from employees surrounding wellness servicesPromotes wellness activities in multiple forumsActively gathers information surrounding employee requests for wellness services to assist with program developmentCreation of wellness newslettersLiaises with external and internal wellness program providersBooks and arranges rooms for wellness programs at all hospital sitesGathers, collates and distributes wellness program materialCoordinates registration of employees for all wellness programsCompiles statistical information regarding programmingInitiates and develops respectful and collaborative working relationships with peers and associates in other units and departments across the organization to foster a productive and satisfying work environment and a higher quality experience and outcome.Work Schedule:The successful candidate will be working Monday to Friday days, with flexibility required for evening and weekend availability. Schedules may change based on needs of the role.Compensation:BAND Q: $31.85 - $37.35 per hourWhat you bring to MSH:Completion of a diploma or certificate program in healthy workplace and wellnessSound knowledge of healthy workplace and wellness principles and best practicesPreviously related experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of wellness programsKnowledge and application of adult education principlesWell developed organizational, prioritization, communication and interpersonal skillsProven abilities in complex analysis, critical thinking, problem-solving and consultationMotivated and self-directed individual with the ability to function effectively both autonomously and as a team member.Computer proficiency with MS Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPointPrevious related experience in health care or private industryAbility to work with clients of diverse ethno racial and culture backgroundsDemonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standardsDemonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as requiredMarkham Stouffville Hospital takes pride in serving some of Canada’s most diverse communities.
