Job Description

Our busy boarding/daycare/training & grooming centre is seeking energetic, self motivated animal lovers to join our team. Responsibilities include animal care (feeding, exercise, medication), cleaning (disinfection of kennels, daily kennel cleaning, common area cleaning, general housekeeping in the facility), and customer service (check in, check out, answer phones, take reservations). Successful candidates will be able to work in a FAST PACED, EVER CHANGING environment, have keen ATTENTION TO DETAIL, be HONEST, KIND, SELF MOTIVATED a TEAM PLAYER. This position is currently part time, but could extend to full time if suitable for the candidate.The kennel attendant plays an integral role in supporting fellow employees, managers, trainers and groomers to ensure the highest standard of care to our clients and their furry family members. We are engaging, customer-centric, and supportive.The ideal candidate has previous experience in the animal field.Duty Specifics

  • Daily feeding and cleaning of all animals including, but not limited to dogs and cats.
  • Provide daily enrichment, exercise and social opportunities inside and outside in our play areas at our facility.
  • Daily cleaning of the facility including but not limited to laundry, dishes, mopping, washing walls, & picking up animals gifts so generously left for us to clean up.
  • Prepare records, bookings and paperwork and provide exceptional customer service to clients and other animal advocates
  • Conduct meet & greets with potential adopters for our fostered animals
  • Receive animals brought to the facility including strays and owner surrenders
  • Complete general administrative duties including answering phones, data entry and payment processing
  • Transport animals to veterinary appointments in the event of foster are needs or emergency from our facility
  • Documenting the day through for social media and marketing
  • Perform other related work duties, as required
Job Requirements
  • Completed High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 0-2 years of prior customer service experience in a fast paced environment
  • Experience in payment processing, with the ability to learn new software, as required
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • General knowledge or past work experience with animals in considered an asset
  • Driver’s License is an asset
Conditions of Work
  • The nature of this work is subject to varying assignments including working weekends, holidays and evenings.
  • Exposure to animals of various health and temperament.
  • Use of various chemicals and cleaning agents.
  • Applicants must be physically fit as they may be required to lift 25-50 and periodically handle or move objects and creatures in excess of 50 pounds.
Wage/Hours Wage: $11.85 hourly starting wage with benefits available after 2 months for workers over 20 hours a week and opportunity for wage increase dependent on performance.Hours: The facility is open 16+ hours a day, 365 days a year.
