Position: Operations ManagerThe Operations Manager is a leadership role responsible for responsible for the overall leadership, coordination and strategic oversight of the City #39;s outdoor services including, municipal services for parks, roads, stormwater and yard waste handling. Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure and Operations, this position plays a key role in maintaining high quality outdoor infrastructure and services while building strong relationships to enhance the community #39;s quality of life.Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the Parks and Roadways departments
  • Serve as a key point of contact between the City and the community for Parks and Roadways operations related issues
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures and respectful workplace standards are followed by staff
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of the City #39;s outside services and drive their design to reflect and change with the needs in the community
  • Monitor expenditures for roadways and parks operations, identifying areas for cost efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Prepare and submit reports on operational activities, safety incidents and budgetary performance
What You Bring:
  • At least five (5) years directly related experience in landscape or maintenance with increasing responsibility including two (2) years of supervisory or management experience
  • Experience in road construction/maintenance and snow removal operation is considered an asset
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technical knowledge and expertise in outside services operations, including green space management, horticulture, road maintenance, capital project management, budget oversight and team leadership
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, solve problems proactively, and adapt to changing situations
  • Powered Mobile Equipment Certification

  • Competitive Salary: Annual salary range of $87,873 to $105,253 based on skills, education and experience.
