Job Description

Thermo King Reefer Technician Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair transport climate control equipment (truck, trailer, rail container)
  • Complete pre trip inspections in accordance with customers specific requirements
  • Provide emergency after hours break-down service as part of an on-call rotation (on-call pay & call-out pay premiums)
  • Work in shop or on customers site via mobile service truck while earning road pay premium
  • Provide estimates on repairs
  • Participate in manufacturers training in order to remain up to date on new Thermo King equipment
  • Communicate information regarding equipment availability and status to the customer at various levels (fleet manager, driver, dispatch)
Requirements:
  • Education: Certification as a diesel or refrigeration mechanic or 5 years experience in transportation refrigeration
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Strong language skills, oral and written
  • Ability to prioritize customers requests
  • Must be organized and able to multitask at all times
  • Valid drivers license
  • Commercial drivers license (CDL), or the ability to apply for one preferred
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks
