Job Description

At Iconic Electric and Controls, quality means more than just our assurance program – it is an ideology that extends to every level of our business.*Our Telecommunications Division is actively seeking qualified Field Telecommunication Technicians (or Contractors) to support our growing company. This position will report to the Regional Telecommunications Manager, and will be based out of Medicine Hat, Alberta.**Expected Start Date: June 28, 2021**RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform installation and servicing of telecommunication equipment, including Nortel, Avaya, Panasonic, EMetrotel
  • Structured Cabling
  • Travel within and outside of designated commercial and industrial regions
  • Provide 24-hour service, depending on client needs
  • Ability to work independently, while maintaining excellent communication and professionalism for all customers
  • Proven ability to demonstrate problem solving and good judgment in response to unexpected problems
  • Reliable, dependable and flexible for changing priorities
  • Be an advocate for all matter’s safety related, provide feedback for pre-job hazard assessments, report safety discrepancies and suggest solutions
REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum two (2) years direct experience with Nortel/Telco programming
  • Minimum two (2) years Structured Cabling experience
  • Minimum two (2) years Fiber Optics experience
  • Pre-employment Drug & Alcohol screening, and 50 lbs. Fit for Work testing
  • Clean criminal record check
  • Strong understanding of communication testing equipment
  • Proficient with computer networking fundamentals
  • Preference will be given to those with Fiber Optic Certification
  • Electrical experience is considered a bonus
  • All valid safety tickets:
  • First Aid
  • CSTS-20 **alternatives will not be accepted
  • Aerial Work Platform (AWP)
  • Fall Protection
  • WHMIS
