Your Opportunity:You will part of the Continuing Care Health Services Standards team within the Seniors Health program. As a Community Infection Prevention and Control specialist you will be responsible to support home care and AHS contracted continuing care facilities, Supportive Living Level 3 through Long Term Care, across the South Zone. This includes surveillance as an South Zone MOH designate for infectious disease surveillance and zone notifications within these settings. You will be responsible for contracted site & home care clinic assessments, infectious disease outbreak management, guiding operators and staff in adherence to provincial guidelines, as well as adherence to Standard #11 of the Continuing Care Health Service Standards. You may also be involved in working groups and on committees. You will be responsible for the east side of the zone, however, may be required to support continuing care sites on the west side as well. Applicants from across the zone will be considered. Location may be negotiated.Description:As a Public Health Inspector II and appointed Executive Officer under the authority of the Public Health Act, you will be responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive environmental public health program. As a Public Health Inspector II, you will have advanced technical expertise in the areas of public health epidemiology, environmental science and engineering, and scientific research. In addition to the duties required for the enforcement of the Public Health Act, you will act as a zone lead responsible for specialized technical advice and services in one or more of the environmental public health service delivery areas on a zone/provincial basis. You will support individual and community wellness through monitoring inspections, disease surveillance, consultation and enforcement of the Public Health Act and regulations.
