As a key member of our organization, you #39;ll play a crucial role in ensuring a positive experience for our patrons by upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and assisting with minor maintenance tasks. Our ideal candidate:As a Recreation Facilities Labourer, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining the cleanliness of recreation facilities in line with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Performing minor building repairs and routine preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Assisting Facility Operators with ice resurfacing, equipment maintenance, pool cleaning, and other operational duties.
  • Documenting and reporting necessary repairs or potential issues to the Senior Facility Operator.
  • Providing information and assist facility users with operational issues, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Contributing to the general security and safety of the facility and its users.
  • Projecting a positive image of the organization to the public.
What you bring:
  • Working knowledge of custodial techniques, cleaning equipment, and cleaning supplies.
  • Basic understanding of building systems and general maintenance principles.
  • Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with power and hand tools.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with co-workers and the public.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work with limited supervision.
  • A commitment to safety, including wearing CSA-approved footwear while on shift.
  • Reliable, dependable, and able to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work an ongoing flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and irregular hours.
Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent high school diploma.
  • Minimum of three (3) months of relevant experience in aquatic, dryland, and ice recreation facility operations.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and ability to use power and hand tools and equipment.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Driver #39;s License, with an acceptable driving record.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR certificates are required.
  • An equivalent combination of Management approved training and experience may be considered.
