Job Description

We are looking for a cook to join our amazing kitchen team in one of our beautiful assisted living site, Meadow Ridge Seniors Village.Previous experience cooking for the senior community is preferred but not required!Facility address: Medicine Hat, ABPosition details: Permanent Part-TimeSUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Sets tables, serves food and beverages in accordance with established policies and procedures and all applicable regulations in accordance with the corporate HACCP plan.
  • Using proper body mechanics unpacks and stores supplies.
  • Maintains work and storage areas in a clean, safe and sanitary manner.
  • Washes, cleans and stores dishes, cutlery, fixtures and equipment used for food preparation and service.
  • Operates and cleans food service equipment and furniture.
  • Prepares food items and assembles ready foods for meal trays
  • Serves foods in the rooms and dining rooms
  • Delivers food trays to units and dining area
  • Provide services in dining room and dish room
  • Cleans tables, and service counter area after meals
  • Washes dishes pots and pans
  • Other duties may include light food preparation, portioning and plating.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of fire/emergency procedures and policies of the facility; participates in fire and emergency drills.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Grade 12 education
  • Current Food Safe Level 1 Certificate.
  • Current WHMIS certification
  • Must be able to communicate in English.
  • Must have working knowledge of special diets.
  • Previous experience in Long-term Care Facility and/or previous food service establishment is preferred.
  • Must be able to operate related equipment.
