Job DescriptionSaskatchewan Health Authority (NE- Networks 5-8) has three hospitals with “District Hospitals” designation (Melfort, Nipawin, and Tisdale) and three hospitals with a “Community Hospital” designation (Porcupine Plain, Hudson Bay, Kelvington). Currently, there are four sites in the area with primary health care teams in place and the area offers the full range of community health services.For family physicians who are interested in a challenging locum opportunity and to enjoy an exceptional quality of life in the recreational paradise of northeastern Saskatchewan!Community Websites:City of MelfortTown of TisdaleNipawinCarrot RiverTown of Hudson BayPorcupine PlainTown of KelvingtonContract Summary (1 Full Time Position):Daily Rates: Appropriate grid rateIn Fee for Service communities- bill MSB for weeknight/ weekend coverage (bill Fee for Service ER codes which will be turned back to the SHA)Locums when doing ER call attached to their clinic day do not receive any additional compensation other than ERCP stipendTravel: $0.51/Km mileage rate and $20.00/hour for travel time (from KTHR border to destination)SHA (Kelsey Trail) pays all administrative, accounting and any other expensesSHA Kelsey Trail) provides accommodations at all locations outside of the locums host communityIncentives: $11,0000 signing bonus with a $10,000 retention bonus after the minimum 160 days has been completed (within the terms of the contract)Contract start: As soon as possible.Job Benefits1. Turnkey practice - clinics in each location complete with clinic staff, patient files, equipment and supplies.Job QualificationsFluent written and spoken English LanguageMust be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of SaskatchewanA degree in medicine and a completed Family Medicine Residency Training ProgramCurrent Canadian Medical Protective Association coverageA valid Saskatchewan drivers licenseCriminal Record CheckNo experience required, but considered an assetProof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required to become a member of Practitioner Staff and provide care in Saskatchewan Health Authority facilities.Additional InformationA Typical Practice Profile: Practice Size: approx. 1,300 patientsPractice Type: Primary Health CareHours of Work: 9am – 5pm (5 days per week)On Call Rotation: All positions are complemented by a rotation of family physicians in providing on-site coverage in the Emergency Department on a 24 hour, 7 day-a-week basis.
