Job Description

Prairie Co-op is hiring a Home Centre Manager on a permanent basis, onsite out of the Melville location in Melville, Saskatchewan. If you are a great collaborative leader and interested in a role that offers autonomous responsibility, then this might be for you!Responsible for the oversight and management of the Home Center with multiple product categories in establishing short-term strategies, goals, and objectives; overseeing the adherence to brand and merchandising standards; preparing, administering, and achieving budgeted goals; assigning sales objectives, coaching, and developing team members and team leaders; monitoring customer satisfaction levels and identifying areas for improvement.What you #39;ll do:

  • You will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and security of the store location and property while providing operational direction and oversight in the implementation of programs and policies.
  • You will oversee adherence to brand and merchandising standards, marketing efforts, image standards, safety, and asset protection within the Hardware and Lumber Departments.
  • You will be responsible to prepare, administer, and achieve budgeted goals as it relates to the pricing, sales, margins, expenses, and inventory of the commodity.
  • You will provide leadership to the team, including the recruitment, goal setting, performance management, training, and development of team members.
  • You will be responsible for building strong customer relationships and delivering solutions and to oversee and monitor client satisfaction levels, ensure customer issues are resolved, and identify areas for improvement.
  • You will oversee the completion and follow through of all safety and environmental policies and procedures and ensure standards are achieved while being responsible for coordination and oversight of all safety, maintenance, and asset protection policies.

  • Experience in the retail hardware industry.
  • 6 - 9 years of relevant experience, including 3 years of leadership experience.
  • Valid Class 5 driver #39;s License.
  • Knowledge of commodity sales, gross margin, and inventory management.
  • You #39;re honest and trustworthy, are results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
  • You believe in building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, and you recognize the value that different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives.
