Where else will you get to create a personal wellness plan as part of your performance goalsPosition SummaryProvides a variety of program support activities within FNHA CDC program. Conducts qualitative and quantitative analysis of client files. Assures accurate coding and client documentation into relevant systems such as the Panorama communicable disease database system. Receives incoming correspondence and requests for information and releases under the appropriate Freedom of Information policy and route accordingly. Performs administrative support functions such as records management, budget tracking, ordering and document processing.Union Code: PSACHours per week: 37.5As a health and wellness organization, the First Nations Health Authority has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.Responsibilities

  • Reviews nursing documentation and client information to determine and identify completeness and accuracy of information. Identifies inconsistencies and missing information and routes files to appropriate person to complete or clarify.
  • Obtains, reviews and documents client diagnostic records from Provincial labs and hospitals in compliance with privacy and confidentiality standards. Prints out physician disposition for mailing out to appropriate individuals and agencies.
  • Performs general record management duties such as assembling files, screening for accuracy, assigning file numbers, preparing files folders, and filing and distributing documents and files.
  • Provides program advice, support, and assistance to nurses and other community service providers by responding directly to straight forward, non-complex requests, and consulting with the program manager or senior team members to resolve more complex and non-standard inquiries.
  • Enters incoming correspondence into the computer database and routes accordingly.
  • Receives, sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and internal correspondence and courier documents.
  • Coordinates the ordering, purchasing, storage, supply, maintenance and distribution of FNHA CDC Program Promotional Materials
  • Performs data entry functions and general word processing duties such as inputting client information into relevant computerized systems.
  • Operates office equipment such as photocopiers, shredders and fax machine and supports minor maintenance such as coordinating IT and IM support requests.
  • Receives stores and distributes supplies in the work area.
  • Participates in quality and safety initiatives, accreditation and other FNHA initiatives.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation
  • Post-secondary graduation from a recognized program.
  • One (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of and an understanding of First Nations cultural principles and protocols in work situations.
  • Awareness of the importance of First Nations cultural identity as part of a healthy, balanced lifestyle for individuals within a community.
  • Knowledge of data entry, manipulation, and retrieval techniques using a variety of automated systems and software.
  • Knowledge of community-based programs and services.
Competencies
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to use computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
