FNHA OverviewAbout usThe First Nations Health Authority is a diverse and transformational health organization of professional, innovative, and dedicated team members and leaders.The first of its kind in Canada, FNHA works as a health-and-wellness partner with BC First Nations to support self-determination and decision-making to improve health outcomes.Title: Health Benefits AssessorContract: PermanentHours: 8:30am – 4:30pmLocation: 706-1166 Alberni Street, VancouverUnion Code: PSA (Public Service Alliance of Cda)Hours: 37.5About the roleAs the Health Benefits Assessor, you will review, assess, and adjudicate First Nations Health Benefits requests; process payments and client reimbursements; conduct analysis and provide recommendations regarding exceptions and appeals; provides program information to key stakeholders; and maintain records and systems.About youTo be successful in this role you will have:

  • Grade 12, including completion of one year of post-secondary education, plus one (1) year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Knowledge of First Nations social, health, economic, and political issues
  • Ability to provide information and advice directly to clients and providers.
  • Ability to use computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of data entry, manipulation, and retrieval techniques using a variety of automated systems and software.
