Job Description

Inventory Clerk (Term MBG)Inventory ClerkMiddleton Bus GarageTerm position effective immediately until October 6, 2023Rate of Pay: As per CUPE Collective Agreement ($22.21)Closing date for applications: Midnight, October 30, 2022Terms and conditions of employment, including wages, are in accordance with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Collective Agreement Local 3876.Reporting to the Transportation Supervisor, responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain the preventative maintenance database;
  • Establish and maintain an inventory control system in accordance with established standards, the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and School Board Policies and Procedures;
  • Order all parts and materials as required;
  • Maintain stock at sufficient levels;
  • Generate reports and print as required;
  • Picking, filling and shipping orders;
  • Assist in the preparation of tender for “tendered purchases” and ensure that other required parts and materials are purchased at the most reasonable prices.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
The successful candidate should have the following qualifications and abilities:
  • High School Diploma, a College Certificate would be an asset
  • Strong computer skills
  • Organizational skills, ability to prioritize
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience preferred in the inventory capacity
  • Experience in the parts domain, understand the school transportation sector, demonstrate impressive customer service skills and exhibit a spirit of cooperation.
  • Efficient product merchandising and able to keep a well-organized work space.
  • Ability to perform in a high-pace environment
  • Ability to lift heavy boxes when needed.
  • Have the ability to work independently
  • Detail-oriented
  • Must be reliable and responsible
  • Good understanding of basic transactional accounting principles
  • A positive attitude and ability to work well with others is a must
