Visit us today and check out www.novascotia.com to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityReporting to the Manager, Mental Health & Addictions, the Ward Clerk is the initial contact for the unit and ensures clear concise communication and facilitates the flow of information with other facilities, the health care team, visitors, family members and patients. As part of a multidisciplinary team the Ward Clerk provides supportive service to patients, staff and physicians and works in cooperation with departments within the hospital setting as well as other units in addition to linking with other MHA services and community agencies when indicated. The role may also include but is not limited to stocking and ordering of equipment for the department, completing work orders for facility management, staff replacement for sick calls/filling staffing needs in schedule, time entry and data/registration entry.The Ward Clerk ensures that the principles and practices that guide our work such as the mission, vision, values, expected behaviors, the leadership philosophy, organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships and interprofessional collaboration are integrated within the services they provide and through the messages they deliver.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:

• Grade 12
• Graduate of an approved office administration course
• Successful completion of a course in medical terminology
• Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and Email
• Demonstrated accountability

Compensation and Incentives$20.09 - $21.91 HourlySuccessful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
