Job Description

Fleet ManagerMaple Lodge Farms, Canada’s largest and most trusted chicken provider is looking for a Fleet Manager.Interested in joining Canada’s largest poultry processor At Maple Lodge Farms, we’re not only passionate about our chickens, but our people, too. If you’re a committed team player, we would love to have you as part of our Catching Operations Team.What you will get to do:

  • Responsible for safety and compliance of Catching Operations fleet, which includes accurate record keeping of safety, maintenance, and driver records, scheduling safety and/or preventative maintenance, conducting yard checks to ensure equipment compliance, and developing training materials for distribution to all Catching Operations locations
  • Acts as the first point of contact for fleet-related claims or accidents; coordinates responses with senior management senior management and/or third parties as required
  • Coordinates the claims process, including general liability claims, by collecting evidence for claims files and working directly with third-party claims administration services to ensure all relevant information is provided to the appropriate parties for claims processing or investigation
  • Administers incident reporting, investigation and resolution for auto, property/liability claims, as well as health + safety related incidents
  • Acts as an active member of the Driver Operator Council, by attending monthly council meetings to provide updates to the business on all fleet-related issues affecting driver operators
  • Manages reporting on fleet metrics for senior management, including maintenance costs, fuel expenditures, and safety statistics. Also provides status updates on claims processing, loss experience, and accident trends
  • Schedules regular service and ad-hoc repairs with the fleet vendor to ensure fleet is compliant with all standards and optimally functioning
  • Provide formal and informal feedback to subordinates to ensure their continuous development and overall contribution to the achievement of Maple Lodge Farms business strategy.
  • Adhere/comply with company policies and procedures.
Your education & experience matters to us:
  • High School Diploma required; diploma in Fleet Management or Business Administration preferred
  • Valid Class G Ontario driver’s license
  • Health + Safety certification considered an asset
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage complex projects based on strategic priorities of the business
  • Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc

  • This position is 60% office based and 40% yard and / driving fleet!
