Your Opportunity:Help improve the lives of our patients and clients while gaining experience in a health care setting by starting your career with AHS! Comfort Care Aides will provide support to front line health care professionals by assisting with patient and resident wellbeing. Working under the supervision of a healthcare professional, such as a nurse or health care aide, you’ll provide basic personal care, recreation, comfort and companionship to patients and residents while being a key member of a collaborative care team. As a CCA, you will assist in activities of daily living, which can include: assisting with meals, dressing and undressing and homemaking tasks. Using your knowledge, skills and abilities, you will provide competent care in accordance to the AHS vison including its values and principles and maintain a safe working culture by assessing and controlling possible health and safety risks. CCAs work in a variety of care settings and must provide safe proficient care and ensure and promote the patient’s ability and efforts to maintain and/or enhance their health, wellness, independence and quality of life. You recognize and respect the uniqueness, diversity, rights, and concerns of the patient to make choices, take risks, and have control over their life. As a CCA you adhere to food service safety practices for food handling and all infection control practices and procedures. You will demonstrate an understanding of the clients care plan and recognize the importance of personal wellness and self-care, and use strategies to promote personal well-being. A successful CCA will demonstrate organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills and understand the role of each member of the health care team including the client and/or family.Description:As a Comfort Care Aide (Client Companion) and a key member of the collaborative care team, you will provide patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. You will follow the care plan using your knowledge, skills and abilities to provide safe and competent care while maintaining a safe working culture, assessing and controlling possible health and safety risks. You will work under the supervision of a regulated health professional while delivering health care services.
