Position: Vocational InstructorPenny Lane Woodworking & Enterprises is a vocational and life skills training centre and social enterprise operated by Queens Association for Supported Living, an organization that promotes the social and economic inclusion of people with disabilities. Through our social enterprises, life skills and vocational programs Penny Lane supports people to explore their interests, identify personal outcomes, learn/develop new skills and to work or volunteer in their communities.We are currently seeking a part-time (30 hours/week with the potential for more as post-covid planning evolves) Vocational Instructor.Reporting to the Vocational Manager, responsibilities of the Vocational Instructor include:· Building relationships with clients to facilitate personal outcome planning· Develop training material to support individualized styles and abilities· Implement and evaluate training programs· Support and counselling for clients· Documentation and report writing· Working with the team to explore options and create programs based on personal outcomes of the clients· Ensuring clients receive quality, individualized supportsThe ideal candidate will have:· Post-secondary degree in human services, or equivalent· Provincial Core Competencies and/or the willingness to participate in required training· Experience working with people with intellectual and physical disabilities· Experience in teaching, job coaching or supported employment· Superior organizational skills and be able to multi-task· Effective communication skills (written and verbal)· The ability to work independently· Emotional intelligence, creativity, and a sense of humour!· Willingness and ability to be a team player· Flexibility with schedule based on operational need· The ability to perform the physical duties of the job· Proof of Covid-19 vaccination· Ability to provide a valid Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector checkIf you are looking for a fun, rewarding career that offers a competitive salary with benefits then you may be who we are looking for!
