The Director of Healthamp; Wellness is a dynamic leader with proven excellence in service delivery and will effectively lead the Hydrospa and resort enrichment (recreation) teams including RMTs, estheticians, spa reception and attendants, children’s programming, recreation activities, lifeguards and pool attendants. This role is responsible for achieving a seamless guest experience by maintaining brand service standards and achieving the resort’s goals. The Director is responsible including profitable financial management, effective leadership, excellent guest experiences, and adherence to brand standards. Responsibilities:• Creates the service culture of the HydroSpa, ensuring that exceptional guest experiences are extended via empowerment and a hands-on service approach from all team members. • Promotes HydroSpa sales through planned promotions, specials, packages, and events. Ensures that the spa is included in property-wide programming and marketing and works to develop the marketing strategy with appropriate stakeholders.• Embodies the JW Marriott culture and leads the teams by consistently promoting positivity and creativity to support the team environment and day-to-day operations.• Maintain connection with the pulse of the spa for feedback from guests and the spa team and of new ideas generated.• Establishes the budget and manages the spa according to planned targets by establishing creative revenue generation tactics and cost-effective management of payroll and expenses. • Maintains accurate record controls of POs, receiving information and invoices by vendors to ensure accurate financial controls during each month. Controllable expenses are kept in relation to business demands to ensure profitability. • Oversees management of the spa, inventory and selling of several lines of retail, booking processes sets and maintains the vision of the spa incorporating the services, spaces, and atmosphere, cleaning and maintenance. • Ensure promotion of recreation activities throughout the resort through effective communication• Oversees all recreation programming, waterfront, pool and fitness center activities. • Responsible for maintaining the recreation budget including assisting with resort activity revenues along with expenses, staffing levels and productivity.• Accountable for tracking recreation statistics• Collaborates with the event management team with the planning and facilitation of group related recreation duties.• Ensures resort websites updated with current guides and recreation opportunities.• Owns large projects by researching, costing, planning and preparing proposals for leadership team for special events to attract more guests to the resort.• Research and communicate community and area resources for additional recreation activities not available on resort property for our guests for longer stays.• Reviews industry trends for new and innovative product and service opportunities• Oversees production of resort recreation communications collateral including brochures, lobby banners, ad hoc posters and hand-outs• Liaises with third party service providers to provide additional recreation facilities, services and experiences to our guests.• Creates compelling special events throughout the year, with focus on November through April and public holidays, to attract leisure visitors to the resort.• Collaborates and coordinates with resort team and local partners to ensure a diverse range of experiences for guests, and smooth execution of special events. • Trains, coaches and develops a successful and enthusiastic team of associates, engaging in performance management and positive coaching and counseling as needed.• Develops strong relationships with the sales, events and operational teams to ensure program success.• Promotes the rules and regulations of the recreation department intended for the safety and welfare of guests.• Follows company policy and procedure for activities including use of waivers.• Oversees leader(s) in providing monthly team training with appropriate associate services tracking.• Conducst routine walk-throughs of spa, fitness, recreation and pool areas to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.• Oversee staffing levels, hiring and training in coordination with Human ResourcesNecessary Skillsamp; Qualifications:• Post secondary diploma/degree in business, spa management, fitness, healthamp; wellness or related program.• Deep knowledge of the spa industry and current aesthetic procedures.• Strong business and organizational skills. • Creative energy and the ability to motivate and inspire a talented and diverse teams. • exceptional skills in running a spa operation in a city hotel environment.• Previous Spa management / fitness / recreation experience.• Ability to show high engagement in caring for colleagues and a true desire to satisfy the needs of others.• Professional presentation and demeanour, comfort in speaking guests.• Strong leadership and organizational skills necessary to manage and direct all aspects operations.• A desire to provide a soothing experience for our customers, leading via excellent guest service skills, both in person and on the phone.• Strong business operational knowledge, budgeting, forecasting, revenue generation, and expense management.Working Conditions • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.• Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire shift.JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka is an equal opportunity employer.
