Hearts in Bloom Academy, a Christian educational daycare and preschool in Mississauga, seeks an experienced Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) with proven leadership experience for our Assistant Supervisor role. About the Role:The Assistant Supervisor role combines direct classroom leadership with centre management responsibilities, directly supporting the Centre Supervisor. You will mentor educators, lead curriculum implementation, and ensure high-quality care aligned with CCEYA standards.Key Responsibilities:Classroom Leadership (Lead RECE):
  • Lead educator in a classroom, guiding and mentoring team members.
  • Plan and facilitate emergent curriculum activities—storytelling, songs, art, and community outings.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Oversee daily routines (meal times, dressing, toileting).
Programamp; Parent Engagement:
  • Develop and deliver emergent curriculum-based programming aligned with ELECT and How Does Learning Happen frameworks.
  • Professionally manage enrollment, billing (bi-weekly), subsidies, attendance, and child records.
  • Regularly engage parents with clear, compassionate communication, addressing child development and centre activities.
Staff Leadershipamp; Support:
  • Support Supervisor in managing staff attendance, scheduling, and payroll.
  • Assist in hiring, onboarding, and mentoring educators, providing regular performance feedback and goal-setting.
  • Organize and co-lead staff meetings, professional development, and training sessions.
Centre Operations:
  • Act in the Supervisor’s absence, maintaining seamless centre operations.
  • Prepare and present reports, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations, healthamp; safety guidelines, and internal policies.
Qualifications (Mandatory Requirements):
  • Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education (RECE designation required).
  • Minimum 5 years of RECE experience in licensed childcare settings.
  • Minimum 1-2 years proven leadership experience (Assistant Supervisor, Room Leader, Supervisor).
  • Strong knowledge of CCEYA regulations and licensing standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with childcare management software (Lillio) preferred.
Certificationsamp; Conditions (Required):
  • Valid First Aidamp; Infant/Child CPR certification.
  • Active registration and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (membership number required upon application).
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check (required before employment).
