Job Description

Construction Site Supervisor - RetailMississauga, Ontario, Canada.full-time DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Construction Site Supervisor to supervise our retail construction project from new builds to interior fit outs. This vacancy is a [existing a new role] working with all team members involved in the project to ensure the project goals and requirements are implemented in the field ahead of schedule, within budget and in compliance with Company and safety policies.Key Accountabilities:

  • Site Operationsamp; Supervision
  • Client Liaison on Site [within operating stores]
  • Resource Management
  • Schedule Adherence and Optimization
  • Maintain Specsamp; Quality
  • Healthamp; Safety
Responsibilities:
  • Supervising and instructing the construction team as well as subcontractors.
  • Proactiveamp; effective scheduling/coordination of construction with client operations.
  • Same page status with Project Manager and client.
  • H amp;S risk analysis, inspection, enforcement and management.
  • Maintaining an accurate record of construction employee attendance.
  • Analyzing blueprints to ensure that construction projects meet design, safety, and budget specifications.
  • Recommending changes to construction operations or procedures to increase efficiency.
  • Weekly reporting to project team.
Knowledge and skills you bring:
  • A minimum 5 years experience in retail construction site supervision.
  • Sound knowledge of building codes and construction safety regulations.
  • Basics of Supervision, CPR and First Aid, Working at Heights certifications.
  • Strong leader and team player.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Organized, resourceful, self-starter.
  • Ability to maintain good working relations with suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Ability to plan, multi-task, work under pressure and solve problems when unexpected issues arise.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret blueprints.
  • Proficient in Microsoft [Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and Project an asset].
  • Hands on experience with various technical aspects of construction e.g. Carpentry, dry wall, framing and site layout.
  • Flexible to work nights and or out of town, as project needed.
  • Familiarity in areas of e.g. Carpentry, HVAC, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing etc. is an asset.
