• Post-secondary education in environmental science or biology.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience in biology or terrestrial ecology, specifically in designing environmental investigations and technical studies.
• Experience in conducting biological and natural heritage surveys with thorough understanding of monitoring protocols, including Species at Risk surveys.
• Must have a valid drivers license in Ontario.
• Certified in Ecological Land Classification and wetland delineation an asset.
• Ontario bird and bird call identification an asset.
• Boat license an asset.

The Role:

• Act as a subject matter expert in biology or terrestrial ecology;
• Support environmental planning and regulatory compliance engagements (e.g., documentation, environmental impact studies and ecological monitoring reports);
• Applying new strategies or technology to collect and analyze existing conditions or identify biological or ecological sensitivities;
• Determine potential impacts as a result of project development and recommended mitigation and management measures; and
• Contribute to environmental assessments, permitting and approvals, environmental management strategies and plans including research, report writing, field work, data collection and management, statistical analysis and regulatory consultation.
