Job Description

Job DescriptionThe Food Safetyamp; Quality Assurance (FSQA) Supervisor will implement food safety management systems to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.Additionally, this role will establish and maintain positive relationships with production, regulatory authorities and other internal and external contacts, as well as lead and develop the FSQA team.Performance of these duties must ensure a quality service approach to all employees, customers and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall leadership, development and talent management for direct reports, including forecasting resource needs, supporting hiring, performance management and training.
  • Assist in communicating and evaluating team goals as per key business initiatives and road map.
  • Actively participate in recurring cross functional meetings including sanitation, production, project and team meetings.
  • Work with various stakeholders to ensure adherence to food safety and quality governance.
  • Conduct trend analyses of food safety and quality performance to help identify, enable and support implementation of process improvements.
  • Validate and maintain documentation to ensure the completion of the team’s daily operations.
  • Assess gaps related to written documentation and provide resolution recommendations and content.
  • Execute and master third party certifications as a key member of the FSQA team.
  • Lead the facility team during internal and external audits (e.g. CFIA, Public Health, OMFRA), including audit preparation activities.
  • Execute timely resolutions of any required corrective actions associated with audits, food safety or quality incidents.
  • Lead facility actions during any potential product recalls and withdrawals.
  • Input and analyze data to provide food safetyamp; quality metrics.
  • May be requested to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.
