Job Description

About this Position:The Millwright Mechanic will be responsible to carry out preventative maintenance, maintain the day-to-day operations and to assume responsibility for maintaining the physical activities of various assets of the Company including the general maintenance and upkeep of equipment and machinery to minimize production down time. The Millwright Mechanic is responsible for maintaining electrical, mechanical, and other related systems and is prepared to work as a team member and with minimal supervision, follow all safety and food safety procedures with a high threshold for heat in a manufacturing environment. Job Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • Contribute to the resolution of system and equipment breakdowns and general maintenance tasks such as troubleshooting and equipment modification.
  • Troubleshoot process and production issues sufficient to facilitate repairs.
  • Completion of documentation related to preventative maintenance, repairs, safety, inventory and process/procedures.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of production line and Packaging equipment.
  • Utilize welding, fabrication, pneumatics and hydraulic skills for equipment repair.
  • Adhering to all policies, procedures and programs of the company (GMP, Quality, Food Safety, Healthamp; Safety etc) at all times.
  • 3+ years of experience in the food industry production lines, preferably cookie or biscuit production lines
  • Other related duties and assigned.
Qualification:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of similar experience working preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Millwright license is compulsory
  • Experience in collaborating with the leadership team within and outside of the department
  • Must be experienced in overseeing ongoing initiatives
  • Communication and Analytical Skills:
  • Strong verbal/ written communication and leadership skills with the ability to positively influence members of the team.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to identify issues, trends and drive solutions to improve H amp;S.
  • Must be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial spirited, fast-paced and changing workplace environment with a desire to make a strong impact on the business.
  • Must have a strong passion and desire for the wellbeing and safety of employees
  • Must have excellent initiative and be a self-starter with a keen attention to details.
  • Must have the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
