Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Roadworks Project Manager to join our team on the prestigious Hurontario Light Rail Transit (LRT) project located in Mississauga. The Hurontario LRT is a significant infrastructure undertaking, and the Roadworks Project Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the roadworks scope, which includes removals, road widening, excavation, backfilling, subdrain installation, guideway infrastructure installation, and paving.Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: The Roadworks Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire roadworks scope, ensuring the successful execution of construction activities within the defined schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Schedule and Cost Management: Develop and maintain a detailed project schedule, identifying critical milestones and ensuring timely completion. Monitor and control project expenditures to keep costs within budget constraints.
  • Resource Planning: Collaborate with the construction team to assess resource needs, including labor, equipment, and materials, ensuring the availability of resources to meet project requirements.
  • Interface with Technical Office: Work closely with the technical office and engineering team to review and implement design needs for roadworks. Ensure that design changes are adequately communicated to the construction team and implemented as required.
  • Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) Closure: Review and address non-conformance reports, ensuring timely resolution of issues and implementing corrective actions to maintain project quality and safety standards.
  • Monthly Quantities: Prepare and submit monthly quantity reports for roadworks activities, tracking progress against planned targets.
  • Permitting and Regulatory Compliance: Liaise with relevant authorities and obtain necessary permits for roadworks. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements throughout the project duration.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project risks and delays.
  • Quality Assurance and Quality Control: Implement effective quality assurance and quality control measures to ensure that roadworks are constructed to the highest standards.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders, including contractors, subcontractors, project owners, and local communities.
  • Health and Safety: Champion a strong safety culture on the project site, adhering to all safety regulations and promoting safe working practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proven track record in successfully managing roadworks projects, preferably on large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of road construction techniques, including removals, road widening, excavation, backfilling, subdrain installation, guideway infrastructure installation, and paving.
  • Experience in overseeing project schedules, costs, and resources.
  • Familiarity with construction permits and regulatory compliance processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical designs and coordinate with the technical office effectively.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage diverse project teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address project challenges effectively.
