This role will be based out of our manufacturing and distribution facility located in Mississauga, ON.Do not miss the opportunity to join an engaging team of people-centric professionals, leaders, problem solvers, entrepreneurs in spirit and status quo-fighters!Job Summary:The Forklift Operator will provide support to the shipping and receiving functions within the distribution team and is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to pick orders, while working a 12-hour continental day shift schedule (7:30am - 7:30pm, 7 shifts bi-weekly)Address: 6810 Invader Crescent, Mississauga, ON, L5T 2B6Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely load, unload and secure raw materials and product onto transportation vehicles in a safe manner.
  • Dismantle storage crates and/or containers, remove and re-crate product into new crates where necessary.
  • Report any damaged product to management so it can be removed from inventory.
  • Report, in writing, by completing the preventative mainte­nance check list, all problems associated with the mobile and lifting equipment.
  • Responsible for yard maintenance and housekeeping around the general work area.
  • Perform any administrative functions related to the position.
  • Perform a variety of other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Completion of a high school diploma or practical equivalency.
  • Experience working in a warehouse, manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience operating a Raymond Reach forklift and Counterbalance Forklift is required
  • Current and Valid Forklift Operator’s License is an asset.
  • Flexible to perform job duties in varying indoor and outdoor weather conditions, work overtime hours when required.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Successful candidate will be subject to a background screening as per the CTPAT guidelines

Working ConditionsIncumbent spends almost 100% of their time in a plant environment requiring varying degrees of considerable physical labour. Lifting, pulling, pushing heavy objects (up to 30lbs), standing and walking cover the majority of work. Personal safety is affected by exposure to heat, dust, noise levels and the use of equipment such as sharp blades and presses. Moderate amount of sensory attention is required. Limited control of work pace and unexpected workflow bring considerable stresses to this position.
