Job Description

District Administrative Support IVReporting to Finance (Riverview Education Center)DEFINITION: This assignment reports to the Manager of Budget and Accounting. This level covers advanced administrative services work in a school districtoffice as well as some supervisory responsibilities. The incumbent isresponsible for the analysis of reports and maintaining various controls. Workis performed with considerable independence and a comprehensive knowledge ofactivities, procedures, methods and techniques is needed to accomplish thenecessary operations or processes. Review of work is after the fact. Functionsmay require recommendations for solution of problems and changes to methods andprocedures. There is some latitude in the methods used in the accomplishment ofestablished objectives. N.B. Other related responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as may become necessary to the operation of the district office.Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting schools in the monitoring of school budget
spending, responding to school inquiries, acting as a liaison between theschools, the Education Centre and the District for administrative and financialissues and to ensure questions are directed to proper person.
  • Providing assistance to schools and the Budget and
Accounting Manager and/or Assistant Manager.
  • Researching, compiling statistical data, preparing and
monitoring reports as required by School Principals and District.
  • Providing assistance to staff in setting up on I-expense
(filling out forms, etc.).
  • Providing assistance for the implementation and support of
School Cash Net.
  • Assisting in the research for tenders and processing
purchases.
  • Supervise, evaluate and motivate the Administrative
Services Clerks.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONSGraduation from high school supplemented by postsecondary training, typicallya one-year program in a related field, and a minimum of five years’ related workexperience; including some supervisory experience; or any equivalent combinationof training and experience.SCHEDULE: 12 Month Position, Monday to Friday, 36.25 hours per week
