Job Description

Telecommunications DesignerMoncton, NB.MOBIA Technology Innovations is a Systems Integration company with multiple business unit areas: Broadband Wireless Services, Managed Services, Infrastructure Solutions, Cybersecurity and Digital Transformation Services. Working with Telecommunication Service Providers, Government, Healthcare, and Enterprises across Canada, MOBIA has developed strategic business relationships with industry leading technology partners to help our customers achieve positive business outcomes.MOBIA is currently seeking a Telecommunications Designer to join our team in Moncton, NB.Key Responsibilities:The Telecommunications Designer is responsible for:

  • Interpret data that has been collected from the field and as-built information to plan and determine the best fibre to the home design using industry and customer standards for single family and multi dwelling units.
  • Prepare high level concept designs for both aerial and buried plant using fiber optic standards and methodology.
  • Analysis of pole lines for required (conductor) spacing, separation, clearance and physical element strength under ice and wind loading, using CSA standards.
  • Prepare various plans including cable, splicing, conduit plans etc.
  • Ensure design drawings and calculation packages are completed by appropriate deadlines.
  • Quality control for designs and drawings.
  • Communicates with project manager / coordinator.
  • Other duties as required.
Skills / Qualifications:
  • A diploma as a Civil Engineering Technician, Architecture or related field would be an asset.
  • Ability to read plans.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working with AutoCAD and/or Visio Software.
  • Ability manage work and prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of municipal services, right of way, surveying would be an asset.
  • Previous experience in telecom would be an asset.
  • Previous experience working in municipal right of way or utilities experience is an asset.
  • Familiar with GIS mapping tool would be an asset.
  • Must be fluent in English and French.
